‘Project Praveen’ Paves the Way: From Classrooms to Startups

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to launch ‘Project Praveen’ on a large scale, introducing skill development training in 650 secondary schools across the state. Under this initiative, students from classes 9 to 12 will receive 1.5 hours of vocational training daily, aiming to enhance their employability and connect them with industries.

Dr. Hari Om, Principal Secretary of the Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship Department, has directed all divisional commissioners and district magistrates to ensure the smooth implementation of the program. The training will cover diverse fields, including IT, banking, healthcare, automotive, electronics, media, telecommunications, retail, and tourism.

The program’s primary objective is to equip students with essential skills, preparing them for self-employment and entrepreneurial ventures. Students who successfully complete the training will receive a nationally recognized skill certification, boosting their career prospects.

To maintain high-quality training standards, only top-rated training providers registered with the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission will be assigned to schools. The project will officially commence on March 4, 2025, with grand inauguration events held at district headquarters, involving students, industry representatives, and education experts.
